Event: Visit to the Armitt Museum

The Armitt is a museum, gallery and library telling the history and heritage of Ambleside, its people, and the surrounding Lake District landscape.  It has a collection of over 17,000 Brunskill glass plates, covering the period of 1860-1906.  The Brunskill brothers were born  and lived in Sedbergh until they moved to Bowness and then Windermere.  We expect to see a selection of the Brunskill images in the storehouse.

Cost: Free for Friends of the Armitt; £12 for adults, with free entry within the next 12 months.

Instructions: Meet at the Armitt at 10am.  There is no onsite parking, but the main ‘pay and display’ car park for Ambleside is situated directly  opposite the Museum.
